A stranger

Author: Gerynn McFarland

Poem:
A stranger

I was walking down an alley when I heard someone gasp for air,
I looked over beside me and a stranger was sitting there,
I asked him what’s the matter but all he did was stare,
I asked him again just to see if he heard me
but he didn’t answer he just sat there,
I ran and put my ear up close to his chest,
But heard nothing not even a breath,
I looked all over him in search for I.D.,
And found nothing but maybe a broken kidney,
There were cuts and sores from nails on his wrists,
And some from thorns on the crown of his head,
Blood washed like sheets on my hands,
From what looked like a spear that went through his chest,
Then I realized this man was no fraud but someone very close to me,
His name is Jesus Christ, the son of God who created man,
And if you don’t know him it’s your turn to see him die again.

That breath

Author: Jamie Williams

Poem: That breath

In the light of new love all sorrow and pain slowly subsides and the glorious light at the end of the path is shown.
The dark colors and shadows transform to bright beautiful colors that radiate a light of purity and contentment.
The unhappiness fades and is replaced by calmness and release.
The ghosts of past miseries and corruption fade into the depths that they came from.
You embrace the feeling of joy and happiness and see the prospect of hope.
You are able to feel that giddy and child-like warmness and find ways to enjoy the effect.
You see the meager past and experiences as they truly are uncapable of retribution or sadness.
You are able to feel once again the joy of the morning light and the the serine effect that love has.
You are able to accept that pain is refining and love refreshing.
And in that instant you are able to take that breath.
