As I walked to school each day
Thoughts rushed to my mind.
I wanted to find a way
To be strong and kind
In the little old schoolhouse
We were in competition
We were quiet as a mouse
We always paid attention
The best ones in grade seven and eight
Could help with the Reading
Often, Miss pointed at me straight
When she saw me asking.
Grade two was in my supervision
In the entrance, we went very quietly
Then each one read with expression
Together we read tomorrow’s lesson slowly.
I never experienced so sweet a matter
My heart talked to my mind instantly
I promised to be a teacher later
After my graduation obviously!
