Just like fire
Burns down the stage
Those eyes are soft yet
Filled with rage
It’s been there forever
And forever until now
I’ve never held him
But I do somehow
I felt that stare
Up to the sky
Then knew that wish
And need to fly
I never thought I’d make it
Stepping through that wall
Being all alone
Yet not at all
When darkness came
And life was thrown
I sat in grief
Then found my own
That same fire was there
Like a guiding light
And stood beside me
Throughout the night
When the storm had entered
And fear had to stay
He took my hand
And flew me away
This is our story
Though He’ll never know
Of his helping hand
As I began to grow
