BORN TO WIN

Author: Susan Preziuso

Poem:
BORN TO WIN

I was born to become an eagle to spread my wings and fly with strength and perseverance. I'll continue reaching toward the sky.
I was born to become a lion to stand tall and proud and free.
My faith and determination casting a light for all to see.
Like a ram I'll stand on the mountain top greeting the dawn of each new day.
I'm prepared to meet whatever obstacles that should come my way.
I will stand before the rising sun, with a sense of pride that stands the test.
I will dare to become the best I can be.

HIS PLAN

Author: Melody Werts

Poem: HIS PLAN

Tears streamed down my face, blood ran from my nose,
my ribs were broken, my eye swelling closed.
God spoke to my heart, this was part of his plan,
he had a purpose for this monsterous, dark-souled man.

God had sought him for many, many long years,
he kept turning his back, shunned him with jeers.
My job was to teach him to open his heart,
accept God's love, then make a new start.

They took him away in handcuffs that day,
to a dark, lonely jail cell, far, far away.
But God knew what was needed to make this man see,
the only way of salvation was to make his heart free.

Alone in the dark, he finally listened to God,
as love filled his heart, he cried out in awe.
The blackness of his soul now illuminates with love.
I thank God every day for his blessings from above.
