BLACK WOMAN STANDING STRONG,
LET'S KEEP IT TOGETHER,
SHOULD BE YOUR THEME SONG,
BUT HOW DO YOU DO IT, AND
MAKE IT SEEM LIKE THERE'S NOTHING TO IT.
YOU BALANCE THE BOOKS, YOU CLEAN,
AND YOU COOK, AND YOU'RE ALWAYS AWARE
OF HOW YOU LOOK, FROM HEAD TO TOE,
YOU'RE GOOD TO GO, YOU'RE A BLACK WOMAN.
I JUST THOUGHT THE WORLD SHOULD KNOW,
THAT YOU ARE THE STAR OF THE SHOW, AND
NO ONE DOES IT BETTER, ONCE SHE'S IN YOUR LIFE!
YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU MET HER, SO,
NEVER LET HER GO, BECAUSE,
FINDING ANOTHER, WELL I DON'T KNOW,
IT MAY NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN, SO,
HOLD ON TO YOUR BLACK WOMAN,
IS MY ADVICE, MY FRIEND!

Let us be thankful to God for everything that we go through For if we are consistent with our praising we will definitely get a breakthrough Instead of murmuring and complaining about our problems every day Let us lend a helping hand to others that come by our way After all, problems serve a purpose which is to help our faith grow And as we overcome our problems our faces will begin to glow So let us lift our hearts and voices as we start each day anew Let us be thankful for the gift of life in everything we do
