Two Poems from our Mother, mom, mommy Poetry Collection

FROM THE HEART

Author: Kristen Burdge

Poem:
FROM THE HEART

  I am mommy,beautiful,sweet,gentle,and kind.
The next minute,ugly,mean,discipline queen.
I hug like a bear showing how much I care.
Tend to cuts,bruises,and bumps.
A nurse in disguise without a degree.
Laughter and tears all at once.
Oh my gosh this is too much!
Counselor,teacher,preacher too.
This is what it's like to be mommy of two.
I cook,and clean,chauffeur around.
I do the laundry,
Oh no,it happened again,I forgot the bologna.
It's time for homework,take a bath,brush your teeth,pick up your clothes.
Don't take that it's not yours!
Read a story,tuck in bed,tickle bellies,rub a head.
Kisses too, plenty to share, don't forget to say your prayer.
This is a breeze as I sit for a few.
Mommy quick,I need you!
Finally it's quiet,so much yet to do.
Being mommy is hard, this is true.
I wouldn't change it,not even for you!

"I Love You and Goodbye" September 11th Flight

Author: Tina DiCarlo

Poem: "I Love You and Goodbye" September 11th Flight

As I sat there in my first class seat about to read my book,
I heard a man across from me say "turn your head and look"
Four men were standing in the aisle, weapons in each hand,
A wave of fear swept over me, I just dont understand
As I went to put my book down, In the corner of my eye,
I saw a woman shaking, that said she's going to die
I quickly grabbed my cell phone and I dialed to my mom,
I told her just how scared I was, and that they had a bomb
My chest swelled up, my hands went numbs, as tears had filled each eye,
I just called to tell you mom, I love you and goodbye
