Two Poems from our Mother, mom, mommy Poetry Collection

"do as i say and not as i do!"

Author: Dorma Fox

Poem:
"do as i say and not as i do!"

Do you remember when your mom got mad, as it made you very sad. You remember her words ring, as she began to sing, "Do as I say and not as I do!" Didn't it sound like a sna-foo. What did she mean by that; when what I did was how she would act. I was just being a kid; but I ran and hid. I ran out of the house when those words left her mouth; "Do as I say and not as I do!" As I ran I was thinking; I was just being like you. Now that I am older, and kids are much bolder; I realize the past is catching me fast. Those words ring from my throat, as I begin to croak; "Do as I say and not as I do!" And I think that this is dejavue. I am now in my mother's shoes and those words ring so true; "DO as I say and not as I do." I see her mistakes, her quirks, and her perks. I look in the mirror and see her there first. As my reflection comes clearer, I can almost hear her and I lean closer to the mirror. As I look at the reflections, I see new directions. The ones she was quiding me to, and now I can say; "Thank You!" Those words she game me, with a prayer and a plea; I can now agree, they were ment for me. For a mother's love so true; I give this to you, "Do as I say and not as I do."

Mum

Author: Kasam Kiani

Poem: Mum

Mum, you gave me eyes to cry your tears,
You gave me love to hide my fears.

You gave me legs to run you miles,
You gave me hope and lots of smiles.

You gave me wrong, you gave me right,
But you gave me truth and held me tight.

You gave me the sun, you gave me the sky,
You gave me strength and the wings to fly.

You gave me faith, you gave me will,
You gave me affection to cure my ill.

You held me close, so we never fall apart,
And all I can give you is the love from my heart.
