Two Poems from our Mother, mom, mommy Poetry Collection

Pregnant and angry at the bus stop

Author: Christian Belcher

Poem:
Pregnant and angry at the bus stop

  Into the distance she cried
An umbilical war!
That's what resided her

There was no bluff
It was heat
No time for lie or quarter

She feigned forward
She wore lycra
The blacks of her eyes protrude

She has alliances
Men in heavy metal t-shirts
She lights up a smoke and puffs

A child for welfare
The anger,the anger
My heart sinks so low I cry

As a child i promised myself

Author: Blanca Viramontes

Poem: As a child i promised myself

As a Child I Promised myself
that I would never lie so that I wouldn't get in trouble.
I used to talk to my dolls all in a row like I was giving them some kind of class.
How I would be like when I grew up to be a big person.

As a Child I Promised myself
that people were more important to me their money
That I would help who needed help.
Even though they wouldn't ask for help.

As a Child I Promised myself
That I would greet strangers
if they had a sad face I would smile.

Now that I am all grown up I as myself how
many of those dreams came true.
I would have to say all of them and more
God has givin me so much more in life.

He gave me two parents.. a grandmother that I will
always have her in my heart. A Daddy that will always stay in my mind. And a Mother that I love so dearly, will always have her in my heart until it stops beating. Although its sad to say that I don't feel that my love has been returned back to me I shall love you in the silence of my mind because I know that you will never understand how I really feel. Its just impossiable to make you realize the feelings that I hold for you.

With this in mind....
I Promised myself as a Child ....

With Much Love, and compansion, I love you Mom
Your daughter....
