Two Poems from our Mother, mom, mommy Poetry Collection

MY HEART AND YOUR HEART

Author: Linda Henry

Poem:
MY HEART AND YOUR HEART

  my heart and your heart
are now one
when you look at the moon
i see the sun
i wish you could smile
maybe you will, in a little while

my heart and your heart
are one and the same
when i open the window
i can hear you call my name

your love and my love
i can see your sweet face
there is a beginning
with no end to take place
if i die before we meet
remember you are my shadow
i am your feet

A Fragrant Rose

Author: Mary Shovlin

Poem: A Fragrant Rose

(Written for Mother's Day, 2003 (UK)).

Mother, you have been with me all of my life
In everything you do, you show you care
From childhood to maturity, through all strife
I can always rely on you to be there

Through tears and tantrums, laughter and times of peace
Amidst bitter resentment, in times of war
You constantly forgive, you are a spring breeze
You are the peacemaker, that's what mums are for

I'd like to thank you for ev'rything you do
They make a difference, all the many little things
For conversation, companionship, advice too
The unconditional love that only a mother brings

I want to end this verse with a vote of love
A hug, a kiss and a bouquet of flowers
No greater love, surpassed only from above
Your rose's perfume permeates all bowers.
