Two Poems from our Mother, mom, mommy Poetry Collection

I LOVE YOU, MOTHER

Author: Tia Jones

Poem:
I LOVE YOU, MOTHER

  I Love you Mother,
You are a remarkable woman who accomplishes so much as a strong woman in a man's world.
You are strong, but soft.
You are strong, but caring.
You are strong, but compassionate.
You are a remarkable woman who accomplishes so much as a given woman in a selfish world.
You give to your friends.
You give to your family.
You give to everyone.
You are a remarkable woman who is also a remarkable new mother and you are loved by so many people whose lives you touched, especially by me.
I love you.

AM I A MOTHER?

Author: Kimberly Mong

Poem: AM I A MOTHER?

AM I A MOTHER IF I’M NOT EVEN THERE?
TO GIVE YOU THE LOVE, THAT I SHOULD SHARE.

I HUG YOU, AND KISS YOU, AND TELL YOU GOODNIGHT.
I SHOULD COMPLEMENT ALL THE GOOD THINGS THAT YOU ALWAYS DO RIGHT.

INSTEAD I YELL, AND PICK OUT WHAT IS WRONG.
IN MY HEART I KNOW I AM WRONG.

BUT IF I AM ANGRY, I TAKE IT OUT ON YOU.
THEN I SAY, I’M SORRY, AND SAY, “I LOVE YOU”.

YOU TELL ME IN A SONG, OR IN A BOOK AT NIGHT.
EVEN IN THE PICTURES YOU DRAW, WE ALL LOOK “JUST RIGHT”.

WITH SMILES ON US ALL, AND IT SEEMS THAT WE SHINE.
BUT LITTLE DID I KNOW, WE WEREN’T ALL JUST FINE.

NOW YOU SEE, THERE IS SOMETHING THAT OUR CHILDREN CAN SHARE.
IT’S TO SHOW YOU WHAT THEY WANT, EVEN WHEN IT’S NOT THERE.

SO A NEW DAY BEGINS, AND SOON WE WILL SEE.
THIS LITTLE PERSON, WHO IS COUNTING ME!
