Interpretation of King of Pain (by Sting)

Poem:
Interpretation of King of Pain (by Sting)

Clouds on the horizon, building up a storm
Has it ever been different?
My life laid bare ...
The wind blows through my heart, changing my life
And I'm caught in the middle, the nucleus of the storm
And it goes on and on ...

It seems it's always been this way, things going wrong
My mind's so confused, the images run together
And you were always there to set me right
And now you've gone no one can take your place

I'm trapped in circumstance,
But I didn't build the wall
It had to happen
It was predestined, fate ...

Events rebel, they throw us this way, they throw us that
I strain my eyes but I can't see
How I could have acted any different

Sometimes love runs smoothly for certain people
But with us there was always something lurking,
Ready to cause us to part
And now I'm torn apart
And I feel broken, as if I lost something vital to my being,
And clouds are on the horizon, a storm brewing

And I thought you'd always be there to set me right,
to change the course of the wind
Everlasting sun,
But it's my destiny
To be The King of Pain. © Mary A. Shovlin

Openness

Author: Molly Woulfe

Poem: Openness

Openness is freedom of the mind.
Freedom is a ticket to your soul.
Your soul is open to your mind,
but is your mind ready for a blank slate,
a bright light in dank darkness?
