forest trees towered above us
in magical prayers to sun gods
one evening heard strange noise
bats dipped, drank water, in thousands

saw dingos walk silently on beach
majestic large dogs free and wild
once were kings in their own domain
now often feared by man, woman and child

amazing so many species of flora
supported on unique stretch of sand
one of Australia's natural treasures
beautiful national park, Fraser Island
