on lily pond is pink lotus
like heart opening in love
eyes turn upward to clear sky
expanse of cloudless blue above
in meadow is magnificent horse
with brown and shiny coat and
its mane hangs darkly, turns head
sideways, stretches long throat
every Sunday morning
people gather to meditate
at around about eleven
quietly sit or contemplate
iron-bark and native bush Great
Stupa and Gompa surrounds
something magical about place
life-giving splendour abounds

young magpie struts on grass below wattle pecks round for food grub or worm to throttle cockatoos screech loud and raucous like politicians arguing in caucus grief emptiness creeps into soul nature helps refill infinite black hole
