Two Poems from our Nature Poetry Collection

GRASSLAND

Author: Rishikesh Palekar

Poem:
GRASSLAND

Sun shines clouds whine
Clouds whine sun shines,
Look at this beautiful play,
Of seek and hide.

Dew drops plenty
Over the grass blades melting
Look like mirrors plenty
Reflecting beauty
Of the tree canopies
And blue, green, purple, violet berries.

Colourful flowers
Rioting with the breeze.

Suddenly mist gathering
New dew drops dropping
As if like showering of clear pearls
Pelting down
And becoming melting bombs
Over little brown mounds of dwarf towns
Under the grass cover.

Under the grass cover
Dwarfs murmur
Of melting chocolates!
But what do they see
Leaking mud mounds of
Dwarf towers.
They run helter
But find no shelter
They burrow deep furrows
Away from dew drop droppings
But find more sorrow
As dew drops follow.

A green leaf drops
And there is a furore
From dwarf furrows,
As it’s their saviour.

Clouds clear,
Flies flutter
Birds twitter
Dwarfs cheer & mutter
Of better weather
Better weather
Better weather.

Starry Night

Author: Karly Dahlin

Poem: Starry Night

On Starry Night
the moon shone bright
the stars a beauties pleasure
the owls eyes shining slick with creep
the foxes slightly quiver
the rain falls from
sky to earth
waking the roosters sleep
he wakes the earth from heel to toe
making flowers softly weep
the frost and dew make a blanket
over the cozy land
come a new fall day
the houses still
the people snug and glad.
the day then rises
the sun comes up
the Starry Night is over
but is still waiting with the clouds.
