Branches sway
as the sweet breeze pushes
through the wall of trees
on to the grassy lake

Ripples spread across
the water
scattering swarms of insects
into the powder blue sky

Ducks follow in line through the
scratchy reeds and grasses
swerving
as if on a slalom course

The feelings of
Peace and new beginnings settle
over the lake
a sweet harmony lets the mind escape
to fly along with the cryign osprey

As the mind soars
respect and love settle over the heart.
Suddenly
the imagination gets ripped away from flying
and plummets like a wounded bird back towards reality

As an SUV tears through the
serenity
scattering the relaxtion that was once there

Blowing up dirt
the back tires screech to
a stop

Power windows roll
down as the humans look out to
see a calm pond
empited of all its inhabitants
who so smartly hide from
the harsh modern world

As I turn my attention away form the machine and
stare back to the disrupted lake
I hear from the car

"Oh, what a beautiful sight"
