ONLY HE KNOWS

Author: Dr Ronald Shultz

Poem:
ONLY HE KNOWS

  2/28/07

Do we really make a difference I reckon we’ll never know
Until we stand right there before Him in that heavenly glow.
When things have no reason and certainly have no rhyme
Paul exhorted us to judge nothing before the time.

Sometimes we seem to be progressing passing every test
Yet we may find we were growing when we had no peace or rest.
The days that seemed so glowing and our crowns had great shine
May be days when the spirit was weak but the flesh was doing fine.

That wonderful sermon or project that made everyone ooh and ah
May have revealed itself in Heaven as something drab and blah.
The thing we cast off as small like a kind word to one feeling so old
May be the very thing that will add a jewel to our crown of gold.

We too often seek a grand entrance upon a glorious quest
When just some little tiny thing done in faith He would have called blest.
So whether you feel strong or the burden and worry grows
Remember the true value of those days only He knows.

wolves in sheep's skin

Author: Ben Otieno

Poem: wolves in sheep's skin

Read the writings on your pulpits
Open your praying eyes people
Behold brains are conning hearts
By the writings in the holy book
Evangelically dressed in cassocks
Rouges kneel upon your hassocks
Silently establishing their mints in you

Unaware of the ire of their falsehood
Nightly they draft their sugar-coated con plans
Choreographing lies in the name of the lord
Endearing themselves to people’s pockets
Ransoms they demand for spiritual kidnap

Every Sunday they drive to church
Vehicled in extravagant car models
Angelic postures they know to fake
Never putting their big bibles down
Greed dwells in their perceived creed
Enhanced by their thirst for money
Like that of our politicians in Bunge
Ideal scriptures they quote emphatically
Congregations to remotely mislead
As daily they thrive into affluence
Leaving their sheep in a comical penury

Gone are those Mosaic and Job’s days
When Angels were angels and Devils devils
Religion is now a vehicle to riches
Boarded at the terminus of vanity
Soon churches will list at our bourses
