LET THERE BE LIGHT

Author: Vijaya Mehta

Poem:
LET THERE BE LIGHT

The World entire is in eclipse,
With the dense darkness of evil;
the gloominess of Hatred,
the dungeon of self despair,
the absence of any morality.
Every soul seems to cry:
"Let There Be Light".

God, at the time of creation,
Engraved a message vital and significant:
" Lighting up the World like the Sun
Your flame should burn incessant
with the feul of Love and Compassion!
Dispel Hatred and Selfishness-
Let There Always Be Light."

In times of crisis major,
When We are fully submerged
in oceans of Violence and Hatred,
God visits Earth in forms like ours
to bring back Joy and Happiness
and enlighten us with lights divine!
Let There Forever Be Light.

A GRATEFUL HEART

Author: Imelda Silao

Poem: A GRATEFUL HEART

I’d like to sing a song of praise,
for all He has given and all of His grace.
To God, almighty Father, Son and Holy Spirit one,
Thank you for the great miracle You’ve done.

My family was deeply troubled and sad,
with an unexpected trial that came so bad.
I accepted this trial with humility, faith and trust,
believing in You, Oh Lord God, I know I must.

I am a sinner yet you did not forsake me,
Truly how grateful I am to Thee.
I thank You, Your greatness, infinite is your might,
I thank Your Son, Jesus, Senior Santo Nino, the only Christ.
I thank Mother Mary, the chosen mother of your Son,
Her prayers have helped, oh how happy I am.

Together we are, every moment in our lives,
Grateful forever, never afraid and willing to strive.
With you I entrust everything I have,
The whole of my family, all that I love.
I know, we are all, in Your good hands,
Your will shall always be our command

I offer to You every sacrifice I make each day,
Little it may be but I humbly say,
This is my song of praise right from the start,
For you my God, from a grateful heart.
