SHEDDING THE LIGHT

Poem:	SHEDDING THE LIGHT

	Shedding the Light I shed the light And walk away But I turn back And see her standing there She is frowning And wondering why Why I shed the light And turned away why I let myself go Why I forgot who I was Why I gave up on everything I stood for Everything I stand for Everything I fought against Why I helped so many others But I couldn't help myself Not once did she ever think that, I, myself, could not be help So, I stood there and let the darkness Overwhelm my soul Corse threw my veins Tear my heart into two Stand there in shame Because I let everything go I stood there and watched her tears Glistening and sad Perfect and so complex Her wings made of gold Her Heart pure; as her soul Then I turned and walked into the darkness It cast a shadow upon her face And for a moment Only a moment I thought of turning back But the darkness had overwhelmed me And I was lost No one could pull me out No one noticed me go Except her And her golden wings of hope

Poem:	DID YOU TRUST ME AS WELL AS YOU PRETENDED?

	We’ve been together for a really long time. You helped me through all the different obstacles I’ve climbed. I can’t believe you ended everything this weekend. This makes me wonder if you even trusted me as well as you pretended. You’ve hurt me many times before. But feelings I have for you will never be ignored. No matter how many times you slam the door.
