STOP PRETENDING

Author: John Boak

Poem:
STOP PRETENDING

  I feel myself sinking
My body isn’t mending
The time is coming
Time to stop pretending

It’s no use fighting
No chance of surviving
Life is losing its meaning
Time to stop pretending

Hope is quickly going
I will soon be leaving
There is no point in trying
Time to stop pretending

My body cancer is eating
I just sit here waiting
No one to give me loving
Time to stop pretending

With smiles I’ve been hiding
Caring I’ve been wanting
I am getting nothing
Time to stop pretending

The pain is increasing
My mind I’m losing
For love I’m craving
Time to stop pretending

My whole body’s shivering
Attention I’m needing
My soul is screaming
Time to stop pretending

I can’t stop crying
The end is nearing
I will soon be dying
NO SENSE TO KEEP PRETENDING!

TRAIN GUARD

Author: Ramya Rao

Poem: TRAIN GUARD

listen once to the story of guard of a train
have you ever thought how much he undergoes stress and strain
he has to sit for many hours alone
but for his wife and children backhome
waving the flags green and red
with no proper facility even to go to bed.

once in a while when he gets a vacation
then there will be no limits to his emotions.
running like an engine he goes to his house
to meet his children and spouse.
looking at them he forgets his tiredness,
his heart is only filled with joy and happiness.

now comes the time for him to join again his duty
but there is no one to feel pity
he has nothing with him leftexcept
the tears rolling down his cheek.
