Two Poems from our Sad, Grief, Sympathy, Broken Heart Poetry Collection

The first day of school

Author: Kaila Boldt

Poem:
The first day of school

  The first day of school,
She struggled through the snow.
Would she be accepted?
Only God would know.

The first break came,
Then the second one as well,
And just like every year,
She couldn't wait for the bell.

She sat there all alone
Wishing even for a glance,
From the people around her,
To give her just a chance.

They passed her by
With only a glare,
How could they be so selfish?
They don't even care.

She had no one to talk to,
No one around.
Only her and her lunch kit,
As she stared at the ground.

I know how she feels.
How heartless can you be?
I know from experience,
That little girl was me.

A girls recent life

Author: Stacy Bartlett

Poem: A girls recent life

Lightning flashes
Thunder bashes
She sits in the corner
She is known only as the mourner
She mourns of the life she once had
In this past life she wasn’t so sad
This girl who sits in the corner
All she did was pour
She poured her heart and her soul
But in this new life when you say what's on your mind you tend to just dig yourself into a hole
A hole of hate
This is her fate
But this fate she did not choose
A life of abuse
This girl sits in the corner wondering when she can come out
What kind of life of this
Being afraid of people you once knew
People who used to be kind but now there is only a small few
What this girl wants to say
She wants to be loved and accepted
