Where in dwells my heart’s desire, Lord? Does she hark singing in a mournful cord? Does she reach for the heavens to a single star, Feeling akin to the lonely body afar? Does she sigh with an endless yearning in her soul? Does she burn with passion just below her threshold? Does she toss and turn moaning in her sleep, Her spirit wishing desperately to be forever complete, To care and be engulfed by an equal’s gentle embrace, Causing her dreaming visage to take on a melancholy face. The very essence of her being shuddering, Needing and wanting to be caught up in the throngs of ecstasy, With beads of glistening sweat form on her perfect body. Her lips pressed tightly, then opening slightly to bring forth an unconscious muttering, Awakening her from an unfit and teasing slumbering. With watery eyes and breath so shallow, Her trembling hand drifts to her side so still and cold, While tears stream down her face confirming a long, road alone. The possibility of a life wrought of emptiness and hallow. Then she smiles so sweet, knowing it is not written in stone.
