out of the gloomy and murky 'cage' battered and shattered, slowly i rose i had had enough and wanted no more; then, illusioned was i to the core fight they said, for this is your cause and fight i did without a pause; my hands today are bloodied with blood for this was the ideal on which i fed; but why is it that i feel so hollow with every step i take to the gallow; all my life from dusk to dawn now i realise i was a mere pawn; oh! how gullible and naive i was to be led to believe of the great cause; now as i stand with the noose round my neck i'm relieved that an evil is dead. |
