RILEY

Author: Ivan Vallejo

Poem:
RILEY

As I sit on this couch
And read you a story
The moment I waited for
My moment of glory

The hate for your mother
On the day you were born
My fatherly love for you
My emotions were torn

I held you so tight
I thought you would break
That beautiful face
My heart you would take

I'll love you forever
Like a good father should
I'll give you the world
And all that I could

When your age was a month
She took you away
The harder I begged
The less she would stay

You're back in my life
But who knows for how long
So I'll read you this book
Maybe sing you a song

Surprise once again
It's another "VACATION"
Don't know for how long
It's not my decision

Always remember
I'll love you forever
In joy and in pain
Through all types of weather

No matter how bad
You'll have nothing to hide
When you get older and drink
No fear, just call for a ride

Don't talk to strangers
They could mean you harm
You'll make it real far
If you use all your charm

Don't be money hungry
And filled with just greed
You'll be remembered a lot more
If you do a good deed

My mind is now empty
Nothing further to say
Just try to have fun
Live life day by day

I tell you all this
Cause I'll see you no more
The minute she takes you
And steps out that door

I know this is true
And it makes me real sad
Your momma just told me
I'm not really your dad

TOO LATE

Author: Lyndsay Perham

Poem: TOO LATE

I gave you away
I gave away my life
Now you are gone
Now you're out of sight
I want to turn back time
Back to when we were friends
But if that never happens
Will this pain ever end?
I know I made a mistake
And time cannot erase what I did
It's like we're playing hide and seek
And you will always be hid
Not a day goes by
That I don't think of you
Not a day goes by
That a tear is not new
I live in regret
I live in pain
I cry so hard
It feels like rain
You think I wasn't hurt
You think I didn't care
How am I suppsoed to go a day
Without shedding tears?
I don't think you miss me
But I miss you
I guess you don't think
I can ever be true
Our friendship is over
Nothing will be the same
And all of it started
Over something so lame
I will always be in regret
I lost something so great
But I guess saying sorry
Is just a little too late
