5 DAYS TO SAY GOOD-BYE

Author: Heidi Orcutt

Poem:
5 DAYS TO SAY GOOD-BYE

Why is it that God gave us 20 years to say hello,
And only 5 days to say goodbye?
When I look at your precious baby girl,
All I can do is sit there and cry.
How do you tell a little girl that her mommy’s not coming home?
She has gone to Heaven, and Heaven has NO phone.
Oh Jessie, Brittany loves you so much,
We’d all give our lives so she could feel your gentle touch.
No one knows God’s reasons for taking you away,
Maybe it’s His way of making us pay.
Pay, for all the times we’ve sinned in past years,
Sins that have caused us so many tears.
The floors are covered in ponds of tears,
People now have to face their greatest fears.
You’re in our hearts, our minds, and our prayers,
Please know that each and every one of us cares.
Nick’s so lost without you in his life,
We all hoped that you’d soon become his wife.
Oh, your mom, she’s been so strong,
These next couple of days are gonna be long.
Things seem so different without you,
Since you’ve been gone, this place has been a zoo.
Well Jess, I guess this is my goodbye,
And I’ll see you in Heaven on the day that I die…

HOW

Author: Jina Kushion

Poem: HOW

How can you just stop caring,
After all the secrets we'd just finished sharing?
I told you things that were known by few,
I even said those three little words; I love you?
How did you say such sweet things,
Knowing that to you they meant nothing?
You said you wanted to be my first kiss,
That when you left I was the one you'd miss?
How did you convince me that you cared,
That a relationship was something that you feared?
You made me believe that you were shy,
When really you were just like every other guy!
