Two Poems from our Sad, Grief, Sympathy, Broken Heart Poetry Collection

MOTHER

Author: Misty Ritenour

Poem:
MOTHER

  Mother's are not just Mother's,
Mine was my best friend, unlike some others.
Auburn hair, blue eyes, a touch that could never be disguised.
I will never forget, what my mother taught me in my younger days.
Even though my life was like a maze.
Every Mother has something special about them,
But my Mother was something more, My best friend.
I loved her then, as I love her now,
if she were here, I'd give her a bow.
I had a bad way of showing her I loved her.
When I figured out how I could show her, it was too late.
It happened December Seventh of Nineteen Ninety-Three.
She passed away and went to be with the Lord for all eternity.
My Mother, I will never forget her.
I will always love her, can't you see.
It's not only that I'm a part of her, but her blood lives on inside of me.
- I LOVE YOU MOM!-

NA-NEE

Author: Trisha Bramer

Poem: NA-NEE

You were there for them if they fell off their bikes.
You were there for them to tell them it's alright.
You were there for them and watched them grow, while I went to work, you took lots of photos.
They called you na-nee and loved you dear.
You called them lovers and would swell up with tears.
You taught them baseball and how to hit home runs, but most of all you taught them how to have fun.
You gave them memories that would last a lifetime.
They gave us a 'joy' that could fill your life and mine.
They climbed the fence to see na-nee, we raised them together, you and me.
Oh, what beautiful boy's they have turned out to be.
At 8 and 10 they were too young to know, that when God calls you must go.
Now 10 and 12 they're half way grown, and they remind me of you 'strong willed' bone.
They know you're gone and never coming back, they're old enough now, that they know that.
They talk about what they want to be, and I look inside them and see their na-nee.
Our boys will soon grow into men, and I just want to say Grandma, Thank You Again.
