Touched By An Angel

Author: Heather Kemper

Poem:
Touched By An Angel

Did you know that you glow
when you smile big and bright?
You capture everyone you know
anyone in sight.
You have such brilliant life
and can infect all who see.
You've been my inspiration
an angel bright and free.
When I was down
unsure afraid,
You held my hand
beside me stayed.
Always there
when I needed a friend.
I knew I could trust you
I could be me and not pretend.
Now you face
tough times alone.
away from family
from your friends and home.
Do not think
I'm not there in my heart.
I would trade you places
I'd play for you this part.
I'd do this for you
in the blink of an eye.
Hero, friend
for you my angel I cry.
Sent from above
with special touches and care
you blessed me and my life.
If ever you need
I'll always be there.
Thank you little sis
for being my friend.
A rock when I needed
on whom I can always depend.
I've been touched by an angel
everyday and it's true,
Touched by an angel
that angel is you.

WATCH YOURSELF

Author: Beth Hyde

Poem: WATCH YOURSELF

WATCH YOURSELF Beth Hyde

Watch yourself.
Keep your strong morals.
Don’t let anyone change
who you are,
how you live.

Your sweet, sympathetic, and
sincere
nature, which is
gold
in a world of copper,
will draw them to you.
Don’t let them cause you
to compromise.
Don’t cooperate.

Be stubborn.
Be free.
Be yourself.

They lurk in every corner
as a flawless monster,
but sometimes
they don’t hide at all.
Their stench is that of rotting fruit.
Be wary!
of their smooth skin
that tastes of sugar.
One lure and they
poison your blameless life
forever .

Sweet smoothie
pours down your throat
suddenly!
stickiness closes your throat
molasses drips
down to the pit of your throat .

Watch yourself.
Keep your strong morals.
Simple modesty
is key
It will pay in the end.
It will reward you.
It will save you.

Your strong reliable love
for everything will be your
shield,
but will also leave you
vulnerable
without your chain mail.
Reveal your heart safely.
Reveal your heart sparingly.
Reveal your heart slowly.

Watch yourself.
Keep your strong morals.
Show them the greatest
love you have:
God.
