Two Poems from our Sisters Poetry Collection

MY SISTER AND ME

Author: Linda Chew

Poem:
MY SISTER AND ME

Joined by the same family tree,
my sister and me.
We share a childhood past--
a bond that was meant to last.

Best friends are we;
I’m sure she would agree.
Memories we hold—
countless stories retold.

Heart troubles we have shared;
our souls we have bared.
A mutual support system we are;
one that can’t be beat--by far.

Care and concern,
and some days a chance to yearn
for days gone by
--a gentle sigh.

As sister’s we shared,
both the good and the bad.
She’s the best sister
anyone ever had!

MY SISTER IS LOCKED IN MY HEART

Author: Marinela Reka

Poem: MY SISTER IS LOCKED IN MY HEART

She makes me tidy my room
And makes me turn off the TV
She is always busy
But I guess she cares about me

She is a really pretty girl
Which always takes me out
But I don't want to stand next to her
When she starts to shout

She always saves me
Like when I forget to come off the bus
And when I do something really stupid
She don't make a big fuss

Sometimes she gets angry with me
But soon tries to calm down
When she is not in good mood
She turns my smile into a frown

When my friends come around
She tries her best to be nice
She tries not to call them
A herd of cows or annoying little mice

I hate it when she says
You can't sleep with me tonight
But she always says yes
When I start moan and have a fight

I really don't liked it when she is mean
And she bosses me around
And I hated when I caught
She says I am making too much sound

I love when she tickles me
And when she makes me laugh
But I hate it when it takes me an hour
To answer if I can borrow something like a scarf

Whatever happens she is always my great sister
I know her kindness she can sometimes hide
She will stay in my heart forever
And always will be locked inside
