Two Poems from our Sisters Poetry Collection

My Angel

Author: Regina Grahanan

Poem:
My Angel

When we first met I was falling apart. My world was going in circle and I didn't know who I was. You came into my life and at first it was hard. We are both so different, worlds apart. I was on edge, easily annoyed you got the worst of it something you didn't deserve. As time went on I started to see, some thing changed inside of me. The girl who was just in my life became my sister in the blink of an eye. I hope you know how much you mean to me. How much I love you and every thing you gave me. You are an amazing person and I'm so proud of who are and who you are becoming. I hope you see what you are capable of. No matter what may come between us, I want you to know that I love you. You are my sister now and forever.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Author: Lee Emmett

Poem: FAMILY AND FRIENDS

tonight my sister came along
entered most unexpectedly
she walked into the room
and quietly in a chair sat she

writers recited each our poem
gave voice to our creations
my sister read out one of mine
and filled me with elation

since beloved husband died
it’s been a long and difficult year
there’ve been many low, sad times
and nights full of anger and tears

this evening washed some fears away
a warm circle of loving friends
when my sister joined voice to ours
nexus of friends to family extends
