Ball Playing

Author: Robert Miller

Poem:
Ball Playing

  A bad day it was
for me today,
all i wanted
was to go out and play.
I got out alright
in my big green yard,
but everyone else
plays too hard.
What was fun for others
wasn't for me.
because of all
that was done to me.
They picked me up
and through me around,
let me drop
and hit the ground.
Repeatingly hitting me
with their big wooden sticks,
hit me so hard
and left all kinds of nicks.
I began wearing white
now i'm covered in dirt,
Id just love to play
without getting hurt
My clothes are now torn
and i am covered in stitches
so i guess i wont be used
for any more pitches.

Win Or Lose

Author: Deanna Dilley

Poem: Win Or Lose

It doesn't matter if you win or lose
It's how you play the game
Give your team mates a chance to score
Don't take all the credit
Everyone deserves a day of fame
You're not perfect
Don't pretend you are
It doesn't matter if you win or lose
It's how you play the game
