Insoxication

Author: Robert Miller

Poem:
Insoxication

  I watch them at home
on TV,
and i'm insoxicated
after three.
Three beers is not
what i mean,
it' three innings played
by my favorite team.
I have a front row seat
because of cable,
but when you start to watch
theres no warning label.
No information
and no health fact,
not warning you
of how you might act.
You start to watch
to get your fix,
next thing you know
your at six.
It's addicting
we all know,
that once you start
you can't let go.
After nine
we don't feel the same,
because of this
mood altering game.
A game of energy
mystery and suspense,
where some of the calls
don't make any sense.
It has us at the edge of our seats
yelling and all stressed,
it turns into idiots
and become so obsessed.
While watching you can't be bothered
because you are totally fixated,
you try your hardest to pay attention
but your insoxicated
There is nothing like it at all
even in post conversation,
it's because you can't get enough
of what we call insoxication.

A Young Dream

Author: Robert Miller

Poem: A Young Dream

When i was young
i had a dream,
it was to be
on the Red Sox team.
As time grew old
i new i never would,
so i took a different approach
and followed every game i could.
A dedicated and die hard
fan i became,
so at least i was close
and inside the game.
There was no way
that i could have followed that dream,
but by becoming a die hard fan
i feel that i'm part of their team.
