Umpires

Author: Robert Miller

Poem:
Umpires

  The umpires are paid
to make all the calls,
to tell us when their strikes
or foul balls.

They are who brings
the outcome in a game,
even when their decisions
seem to be lame.

I have seen so many
make the wrong call,
like when calling a strike
when it was a ball.

It's because of those calls
that a team can win or lose,
you just hope that the right call
is the one they choose.

Don't try to argue
because they have the last word,
and they act like you trying
to them is absurd.

They never like to hear the argument
and what the point is about,
so instead of listening
they just throw you out.

We are all human
and we all make mistakes,
so why do they decide
who gets a break.

Successors Failing

Author: Robert Miller

Poem: Successors Failing

Ok New York
you did beat us,
but there are others
when you travel your bus.

Do you understand
that you have to beat them too,
or was it something you thought
you did'nt need to do.

Whether it's here on the east coast
or when you jump that plane,
winning is a must
or you will not gain.

When i watched the other night
i thought it all turned around,
but i saw the next night
that it was just a rebound.

The games against us
must just have been luck,
and that saying is true
you really do S - - K!!!!!!!!!

After two wins
your back to the losing streak,
and your loss column continues
to get bigger by the week.

Maybe it would have been better
if you all left money in your pocket,
instead of paying 20 some odd million
on the infamous Rocket.

Who by the way
has'nt even pitched for you yet,
to help you out of what
could be your biggest upset.

And you thought the upset
of 2004 was was bad,
this just could be the worst season
that any Yankees team has had.

But still it'll be fun
to watch your team fail,
and see once again
your rivals prevail
