I GLOVE THIS GAME

Author: Mark Rumsey

Poem:
I GLOVE THIS GAME

I am the stop and the toss
The leather and the string
Put me up and break me out

I am the smack and the thud
The name and the brand
Put me up and break me out

I am the catch and the drop
The snow cone and the palm
Put me up and break me out

I am the left and right
The snag and the bobble
Put me up and break me out

I am the old and the new
The young and the old
Put me up and break me out

I am the safe and the out
I am a baseball glove
Put me up and break me out

Americas Favorite Pastime Memories

Author: Robert Miller

Poem: Americas Favorite Pastime Memories

I am here to talk about
these great memories that last,
they are all games of baseball
that have been played in the past.

Americas favorite pasttime
they were games that we'd seek,
and with every one we watched
we saw something unique,

We saw history being made
and things that were never done,
like teams that had no chance
but miraculiously won.

We saw perfect games pitched
as well as no hitters,
by the pitchers who threw
fastballs and splitters.

We saw records being broken
as well as being made,
we saw championships won
and their victory parades.

We saw astronomical amounts paid
for both players and teams,
and we saw our children of yesterday
reach all their dreams.

It was by Americas favorite pasttime
that these memories were made,
and the memories are great ones
that never will fade.
