The Gunman Took The Loss

Author: Robert Miller

Poem:
The Gunman Took The Loss

  From sixty feet away
on that mound he stood,
with a fierce look in his eyes
that did'nt look good.

He stared me down
with his eyes never blinking,
he then raised his gun
what was he thinking.

He fired first
my god he was fast,
but i was quick enough
to get off my own blast.

He was on target
yet so was i,
because my weapon reflected
his bullet to the sky.

Both his fierce looking eyes
and his gun that was so quick,
turned out to be no match
for my big wooden stick.

The gunman was pretty good
just was'nt good enough,
maybe the next time
he'll have his normal stuff.

It was a great moment
one of the best for me,
to run all the bases
and claim victory.

A Day At A Game

Author: Robert Miller

Poem: A Day At A Game

Buying peanuts and cracker jacks
and not worrying if they ever get back
are words that you might hear,
in that baseball park
that is never dark
and has such energy in the air.

Programs here!
or souvenirs here!
is what you might here someone yell,
along with baseball hats
and baseball bats
there's so much they try to sell.

While watching the game you love
with your baseball glove
you just find yourself waiting there
for that home run hit
to where you sit
it's the perfect souvenir.

A day at the game
is never the same,
you'll always see something new,
so take a day
to get away
Americas favorite pastime waits for you.
