I HOLD YOU IN MY ARMS

Author: Lettie Edrington

Poem:
I HOLD YOU IN MY ARMS

Haley I know you’re confused you don’t know which path to take and as you stumble along one you find you've ran into a room with no escape. So you start to cut to take away your pain. All the feelings that are swelling up inside you, the ones you cant explain. To find a way out of your cage, to find an open door into freedom.

And I take her in my arms as she cries off her grief saying thanks for being here and I look her in her eyes and tell her I always will be.

And I don’t know exactly how she feels but I love her oh so much

I’m sittin’ with my sister who’s gone and lost her mind. And as she is trying to find it she reaches out for something to hold onto, to keep her from falling into an unknown place in her brain. But to late her hand slips and I’m here to help her back up from her pit. I try to help her feel of worth and I let her know there’s something to still fight for.

And I take her in my arms as she cries off her grief saying thanks for being here and I look her in her eyes and tell her I always will be.

And I don’t know exactly how she feels but I love her oh so much

My friends mother is fading her light is going out. For when she leaves her daughter behind she may also taker her son. Leaving her child with her family gone and I sit here as she falls onto my shoulder releasing her fears into my ears and leaving her tears upon my lap

And she thanks me for always being there and I look her in her eyes and tell her I always will be

And I hold them all so close not wanting to let go. If I do they might never come back. They may fade from existence letting their fears consume them

And my heart is breaking as my eyes burst with tears because I don’t know exactly how they feel but I love them oh so much

Untitled

Author: Neesa Baker

Poem: Untitled

I pick up the scattered pieces of my heart.
They lie in pieces on the floor, I know some pieces are forever lost to me.

I pick up the scattered pieces of my heart,
and I know that my heart will never be the same. I close my eyes to the shearing pain in my empty chest.

I pick up the scattered pieces of my heart. I live in pain and I can never love again, I will forever be alone.

I throw away the scattered pieces of my heart, I wish no more to piece them together.
