Two Poems from our Teen Poetry Collection

WRITER'S BLOCK

Author: Aaron Gotreaux

Poem:
WRITER'S BLOCK

A writing should voice the author's emotion
Not scribbled fast, but shown some devotion

Deeply reflecting their own works,
Poets have seen the many walks of life
For they have seen poverty and tyranny
And men who walk along the blade of a knife

Meanwhile, I feel as though I can't relate
Blankly staring at paper, I can't concentrate

Confined in my own box
What has a life of 15 years seen
Longingly searching for something unknown
Only now I pluck inspiration from dreams

Unsatisfied and losing interest, it's time for a break
I'll go outside, my mind needs to rest for heaven's sake

SLOWLY DYING

Author: Becki Chappell

Poem: SLOWLY DYING

The music
blaring loud through the speakers.
vodka shots
and slamming beer.
driving home
trying to be careful.
sitting in the ditch
trying to move.
riding in the ambulence.
in and out of concousness.
your parents crying
you were simply lying
but now you're,
slowly
dying.
