SHE BROKE MY HEART

Author: Aditi Khanna

Poem:
SHE BROKE MY HEART

Till now that person was my everything
I never thought that she would break my heart like anything
She has made me realize that "Blood Relations Are The Strongest"
I never expected that our relation would be the weakest
She just shows off that she's very good and nice
She just acted as if she's very caring and wise
Though to her I can never forget
She came in my life, which I regret
If she'll not be good with me in a few days
Then to take revenge on her, I'll try different ways
She thinks that she's the best and can never be wrong
I wish I could destroy her in the form of a storm
I just wanna forget her completely
To live my life happily and nicely

BE YOURSELF

Author: Atina Karim

Poem: BE YOURSELF

I was pretending to enjoy myself at another frat party,
When suddenly some of my friends approached me.
"To achieve exhiliration this is all you need,"
They explained as they extended their hands towards me, offering weed.
"Annihilate yourself, for the sake of mirth,
Happiness is the reason for our birth."
Contrary to my conscience the cigar was lit,
From the very next minute,I started regretting every bit of it,
Darkness took over as i started passing out
Would my friends come to my rescue?..i had my doubts,
I woke up to realise i was in imprisonment,
Along with an erudite looking man, whose cold stare, for me , was meant.
"Why are you always you so afraid to stand up for yourself?"he enquired.
To provoke my thoughts that was the question required.
He continued,"The world is running out of valiant people, it is like he globe has got a leak,
No one seems to realise courage is what we should seek.
Why did you fear saying no to your friend
Even when you knew the decision meant lifelong amendment?
Conscience is God's gift to us-mankind has forgotten,
No wonder the earth is in a state so rotten.
People are not brave enough to be themselves ,
Always pretending to be somebody else.
Every individual is so obsessed wit fitting in,
That they do not even mind if the process requires commiting sin.
Why are you so afraid to be yourself,Individuality is what the world needs more than anything else.
The man vanished into thin air, leaving me to ponder over his words in despair.
Thats when i open my eyes just to see,
a world ful of people just as confused as me.
