THE DESTINY ANGEL

Author: Katianne Elliott

Poem:
THE DESTINY ANGEL

You drew me in your heart,
Then gave me,a gift of love,
You showed me,a world of passion,
That grew beyond,that place above.

Your soul, was what, kept my heart beating,
While your love,kept me content,
The imaginery world,we lived upon,
Was everything,you sent.

Each night,i'd look out my window,
To watch the stars, rise in the sky,
And each time,an angel, appeared before me,
There was saddness,in her eyes.

The pain,that she was feeling,
Grew stronger in my heart,
The sorrow, that led her life away,
Was tearing her apart.

Why did she choose,to turn,to me,
To let me learn, the life, she lived?
Watching her breakdown,in tears each time,
At everything,she gived.

Then oneday,while walking,on the beach,
That same angel,touched my hand,
She drew a picture,of a lonely girl,
Who was crying,in the sand.

It was then, that i had realised,
Who that lonely girl,had been,
It was the girl, who lived inside of me,
A place,i'd never seen.

The angel had tried,to tell me,
That my life,was going astray,
And the dusty road, that i was following,
Was only,drifting me away.

So as i turned around, that dusty road,
To walk,my way,back home,
The angel smiled, and gave a wave,
She knew,i would never be alone.

WHITE

Author: Jessye Norman

Poem: WHITE

Just a few miles,
It’s just some water,

Waves and fish,
Pebbles and sand,
White cliffs,

It’s just some water,
And on the other side,

Waves and fish,
Pebbles and sand,
White cliffs,

And on the other side,
That’s where I want to be,

Waves and fish,
Pebbles and sand,
White cliffs,

That’s where I want to be,
I don’t care,

Waves and fish,
Pebbles and sand,
White cliffs,

I don’t care,
About immigration,

Waves and fish,
Pebbles and sand,
White cliffs,

About immigration,
They can’t stop me,

Waves and fish,
Pebbles and sand,
White cliffs,

They can’t stop me,
Because I won’t go beck,

I’ll stay with a white conscience,
By the white cliffs of Dover.
