Two Poems from our Tributes, Memorials Poetry Collection

LOVE'S ANGEL

Author: Caitlyn Nygaard

Poem:
LOVE'S ANGEL

Despite the tragic sorrow of this life's decay.
I know I'll see her dancing in heaven's day.
Her tender smile's light we'll never see.
Held in our embrace she'll never be.
Perhaps we will never forget the pain.
But morning's light will rise again.
What love was lost we'll never know.
Or see her glitter in midday snow.
Clutched in the palms of gentle hands.
A tear waits, eager to expand.
How I long to see her in heaven's light.
Jesus hold love's angel tight.

OUR WISDOM

Author: Adel Saleeb

Poem: OUR WISDOM

We the people, as we sailed across the sea;
Fought Neptune’s wild waves till we got to the shore
Seeking a land of justice , where we were meant to be
Dreamt of a home of virtue, and the great Thomas More
We the people, young, old, small and grand
Descendants of mankind from all over the land
Do ordain a constitution that is so wisely planned.
One that, for our children, will always guarantee
A life so safe and prosperous in the land of the free
We the people, despite our names or colors,
Here would establish one nation under God
Let those who do not respect these manners
Go, where they belong, stained with shame and mud.
We the people, vest power upon a president
Who will not be soft, nor will he be so cruel.
Who recommends such measures we see fit and expedient
And swears to execute his office, to serve the people, not to rule.
