Two Poems from our Tributes, Memorials Poetry Collection

WINGS OF PREY

Author: Stephanie Flater

Poem:
WINGS OF PREY

  Gazing at the cloudless sky,
evil mars heaven as a jumbo jet soars by.

Assault of freedom changes forever,
we will collapse unless we fight together.

Threatened security chokes all souls,
a shocking truth means unchartered goals.

A cunning vulture lands in a tree,
seizing its victim, no longer free.

Freedom paralyzes those of good will,
as the enemy lurks over the hill.

A dove attacked by wings of prey,
clouded heaven that September day.

A DREAMER'S VOICE

Author: Cynthia Halverson

Poem: A DREAMER'S VOICE

In the shadows we do reside
lost in darkness I cannot feel your warmth
I remember soft seductions and a sweet embrace
When you died did you kiss eroticas face?
Did you go softly?
Or did you feel pain?
all I know is my heart will never be the same again
ah my southern prince
I long for your embrace
I long to shadowdance again to a hypnotic pace
do you think of me still
in the realm of dreams?
would you lie with me there where black meets white
I miss our midnight date..
where our passions never did abate
Come Back to Me Draco
I miss you so
Remember where one heart went
the other would go?
Ah My Dark Prince I hope you are at last at peace
And you will always belong to me..
