NEVER FORGOTTEN

Author: Trish Jaques

Poem:
NEVER FORGOTTEN

SOMETIMES THINGS ARE SAID IN HASTE
THAT WE DON'T REALLY MEAN
I WISH I COULD GO BACK IN TIME AND
WIPE THE BLACKBOARD CLEAN

MY MOM AND I WERE ARGUING
ON THIS HOT DARK AUGUST NITE
WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN
I SAW AN AWFUL SITE

A CAR CAME OUT OF NOWHERE
AND STRUCK MY MOTHER DOWN
AND THREW HER OH SO QUICKLY
TO THAT HARD AND DAMPENED GROUND

MY HEART WAS FILLED WITH ANGER
AND MY MIND WAS FILLED WITH FRIGHT
AS I SAW MY MOTHERS BODY
UNDERNEATH THAT BRIGHT STREETLIGHT

IT ALL SEEMS LIKE A NIGHTMARE
THAT HAUNTS ME NIGHT AND DAY
THE IMAGE IS STILL VIVID
AND JUST WON'T GO AWAY

I WAS SIXTEEN WHEN THIS HAPPENED
AND NOW I'M FORTY ONE
I HAVE A 19 YR OLD DAUGHTER
AND A 20 YR OLD SON

MY BEST ADVICE THAT I CAN GIVE
IS PLEASE DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE
IF IT WASN'T FOR THE ALCOHOL
MY MOM WOULD BE ALIVE

LOVE YOUR KIDS AND FAMILY
AND WATCH THE WORDS YOU SAY
CHERISH EVERY MOMENT
AND DON'T FORGET TO PRAY

SO MOM IF YOU CAN HEAR ME
I JUST WANTED YOU TO KNOW
THAT I'M SORRY FOR THE THINGS I SAID
I REALLY LOVE YOU SO

HEAVEN'S DAYCARE

Author: Chaine McIntyre

Poem: HEAVEN'S DAYCARE

You always said you had a purpose
Even in your death
A purpose filled in heaven
A soul to never rest

Your afflictions here on Earth
Never brought you down
Only fueled your Obligation
With a kind of love only you have found

Life was just a practice
For the future you knew you'd receive
Children all around you
Surreal innocence only you perceive

Heaven's daycare now in your hands
A gift that you control
Your precious care around them
Guiding their adolescent souls

As you walk on heaven's streets
Your soul forever free
I only hope you teach those children
As you have once taught me.
