Two Poems from our Valentines Day Poetry Collection

Take a Chance

Author: Dianna Williamson

Poem:
Take a Chance

My heart aches for a chance
yearns for a union of souls
longs to express tender passions
fate may render peace
if we dare take a chance
cherish our friendship
yet yield to our affections
surrender to a delicate flame
that proposes a shimmer of hope
embrace the promise of more
submit to sweet pleasures of flirtation
delight in each others caresses
indulge in deliciously soft kisses

You

Author: Govind Rai

Poem: You

When I was a kid I dreamt of an angel,
That angel is you.
When I was young I dreamt of love,
That love is you.
Now when I dream of long ways to go,
I think of someone to walk along with me,
And that someone is you.
My sweetest dreams are you,
When I look into your eyes,
I can see my future so perfect,
That sometimes I fear,
What would my life be without you,
You are the one who defines me,
You are the one who makes me feel,
The way I want to feel,
That’s why I love you.

I need you like I need air to breathe,
I want you the way earth needs the sun,
The way sea needs rain,
You guide me like the star guides the ship
In its darkest and loneliest night.
My life without you would be so lonely,
Lonely as the sun in the sky
My life without you would be so empty,
Empty like a moon, with no life in it.
I breathe to see you breathe,
I treasure every moment, I spent with you,
When I think, I think of you,
And when I pray, my prayer is for you,
You’ve conquered my heart,
And now I ‘ve surrended myself to you,
