The heart remembers
Sitting alone in solitude.
Like a camera capturing moments
That piece together pain.
The heart trudges on,
Smacked in the face by adolescence
Suddenly realizing,
Every end is a new beginning.
The heart seems so forgiving.
Yet a red rose drained of color,
Loathes the lesser of two evils; unfaithful.
Corruption of trust.
The heart asks why,
Brow raised in question,
Eager in the search for answers.
But rarely discovering any.
The heart is jealous,
Yet content with envy.
Two opposites attracting,
Playing their role in desire.
The heart never lies.
Footsteps of pain along the way,
Always lead to the right path in the end.
Never doubt love.
