It's February, another valentine year
One of many days that I love you dear
How about some chocolates your favorite kind
You're on a diet so I’ll leave them behind

I will buy you flowers but someday
they will die
So I’ll just give my heart that will last a lifetime
Giving you jewelry that would be nice
To have all my love would that suffice

I could buy you a card with a heart on the front
Isn’t my heart what you really want
Valentine's day for the sweethearts in our lives
Just happens my sweetheart is my lovely wife

Valentine's emotions tugging at my heart
My life is a puzzle you’re the final part
A marketing ploy of love you see
I need more than one day of you loving me

If you don’t know that I love you today
No cards or gifts will tell you anyway
So I give you this poem instead of a card
Because putting down the right words wasn’t too hard
