Two Poems from our Valentines Day Poetry Collection

THROUGH THE STORM

Author: Kimberlee Laclair

Poem:
THROUGH THE STORM

I feel my heart pumping now
As I sit and reminisce the way I feel.
And I don’t know how
To decipher if it’s feelings that are real.
And yes I know
That I love you like I never have before.
Can we go?
And open the doors we tried before.
It’s all clearer now
As I take the time to look you in the eyes.
You’re the sweetest sound,
The only one to hear my silent cries.
Now I see
Sometimes time apart can be so good.
And you and me
Are together just like we knew we should.
The streetlights can go out,
But I can see the light of your eyes
Your harmony resounds
As we drift away into the perfect night.
When you were here before
The stars didn’t shine quite like this.
Even through the storm
The rain didn’t fall as nice as this.
It’s you and I again
And we’re in love for real this time.
Even if we end up friends
I’ll still love you for the day you were mine.

PERFECT MOMENT

Author: Kimberlee Laclair

Poem: PERFECT MOMENT

Sometimes it’s so hard to believe I could get any happier
Tears of joy roll down my cheeks as my heart feels sappier.
I let out sighs of relief because you’re always on my mind.
I wouldn’t change a single thing if I could turn back the time.
With my head on your shoulder and your arm around me it felt so right.
The only sad thing was you had to leave at one point that night.
Holding hands and lying close, I’ve never felt so warm.
There was no kiss but I don’t care, I just remember the feeling of being in your arms.
No words could be said; the silence seemed to say it all.
Soon you’ll be more then just a friend, the one I can hold hands with in the hall.
It took a little bit because we’re both so shy.
But it was worth the wait, to know soon you’ll be mine.
When you hugged me it was perfect but I never wanted to let you go.
As our hands separated I knew every feeling could show.
In my eyes and yours, just one look and you can see.
I forget everything when I’m with you; all I think about is you and me.
I remember the scent of your skin, and the fabric of your clothes.
I remember the feeling I got inside when you pulled me really close.
That feeling is still there, I smile every moment it comes into my mind.
It’s just like air; I breathe it in all the time.
I melted in your arms; I melted with the touch of my head on to your shoulder.
I felt it in my heart, with you everything felt so much warmer.
Thank you, I hope I made you feel the way you did me.
No words can explain the things you’ve done to me.
It was another perfect moment; I know you thought it was perfect too.
I’m left speechless in the end; all I can think about is you.
